Weather

Shenzhen is located on the South China Sea and has a subtropical monsoon climate. April is the rainy season of the year and there is a lot of precipitation, so it is advisable to carry an umbrella. If inadvertently forget, umbrella loan service offered by the majority of hotels.

Transportation

The Shenzhen World Exhibition and Convention Center is close to Shenzhen World North metro station, making it convenient for travelling by metro (more information please click “Transportation” page).

Taxi and online ride-hailing are also common ways to travel in China, and the most commonly used car-hailing apps are “DiDi” and “Amap”. You can download the above apps from mobile application market and it comes with an English version.

Road Traffic System

The road traffic system in China is right-handed, with the driver’s seat on the left and vehicles driving on the right side of the road.

Language Code

Mandarin and Cantonese are the language used for citizens in Shenzhen. If you need any help, please consult directly with the professional staff at the hotel and venue. To communicate with the local, it may be more effective to use the translation apps on mobile phone.

Power Supply

The supply voltage in China is 220V/50Hz and sockets are of the 2-hole/ 3-hole flat-head type. If the electronics are 120V, please bring a voltage converter in advance, and some hotels can provide adapters and converters.

Communication and Networking

China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom are the main operators of mobile communications in China.

After arriving in China, the phone will automatically connect to the local network operator normally,but some models may need to enable "data roaming" manually. International roaming charges will apply for using the network.

Depending on the actual need, it is possible to purchase a data card, data package or apply for a Chinese cell phone number. It can be done either online or at offline business office. It is recommended to call the service hotline in advance to check the nearest available offline business office, since not all offline business office offer services for foreign passport holders.

China Unicom: 10010.

China Telecom: 10000.

In China, free WIFI is available at airports and most hotels. Please ask the staff for more information and help.

Currency and Bank

The official currency is Renminbi (RMB).

According to the latest exchange rate, 1 euro is about 7.5 yuan and 1 dollar is about 7 yuan. (Calculation of equivalent foreign currency amount is based on exchange rate released by the People’s Bank of China on the date of exchange.)

Credit cards can be used in most shops and restaurants. In addition, mobile payments like WeChat and Alipay are also available.

Banks

The banks open at 09:00-12:00 and 14:00-17:00 from Monday to Friday.

ATMs are usually available near banks or in large shopping malls, which only accept CNY withdrawals. If you need to exchange foreign currency/RMB, please go to the bank's business hall for processing. When exchanging currency, please keep your receipt, which can be used to exchange the remaining CNY for foreign currency when leaving China.

Stores

Most stores generally open from 09:00 or 10:00 to 17:00 or 18:00 and larger malls are usually not close until 21:00 or 22:00 in the evening.

The famous commercial pedestrian streets in Shenzhen include MIXC Pedestrian Street in Nanshan District and Dongmen Pedestrian Street in Luohu District.

Tips

Tipping is not customary in China. However, tipping the service staff appropriately is acceptable and can show your appreciation to some extent.

No Smoking

Smoking is prohibited indoor in China, which is also prohibited inside the Congress venue.

Responsibility and Insurance

Participants are advised to make their own personal travel and health insurance arrangements. Neither the Congress Organizing Committee nor PCO will be liable for any damage or injury to person or property during the Congress.

In China, the common emergency calls are: Police Security: 110; Medical Emergency: 112; Fire Alarm: 119.

Epidemic Prevention Policy

Since 29 April, all inbound personnel can be tested for antigen instead of nucleic acid within 48 hours before boarding, and airlines will no longer check test certificates. Customs will release inbound personnel with normal health declarations and no abnormalities in routine quarantine at the port of entry into the community.

Heyi Community Health Service Centre at Shenzhen Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine Hospital: diagonally across from He’er Market, He’er Road, Heyi Village, Shajing Town, Bao’an District (next to the Joint Security Brigade)

Pengzhou Polyclinic: 100 meters southeast of the intersection of Jian'an Road and Fuyuan Road 1, Bao'an District

Grade ⅢA Hospitals Nearby

Shenzhen Bao'an People's Hospital: No.118, Longjing 2nd Road, Xin'an Street, Bao'an District, which is about 35 km from the exhibition hall and can be reached in 80 minutes by car.

Shenzhen Bao'an People's Hospital is a national Grade ⅢA general hospital. It was founded in 1984 and is a large general hospital integrating medical treatment, prevention, health care, rehabilitation, scientific research and teaching.
